That there was a significant carry-over effect present in the vitamin D analysis for the CD trial ( p = 0.01) and borderline carry-over effect in the healthy trial (although this did not reach statistical significance, p = 0.06) would suggest that the washout period was not long enough in second trial with CD participants even though the washout period was extended from four to six weeks.
