In two studies including 221 women [ 38 , 55 ], there was a nonsignificant decrease in macrosomia in metformin-exposed compared to glyburide-exposed neonates, although this did not reach statistical significance (OR 0.32, 95% CI 0.08 to 1.19, I 2 = 0%, p = 0.09) ( Fig 4C ).
