P1-N1 amplitudes for lower-level target sounds showed a trend towards a reverse context effect (i.e., larger response in the 45-dB than 15-dB context), but this observation may need to be treated with caution due to the relatively small magnitude of the P1-N1 response (see Fig. 4A ).
