A greater fraction of efferents from mPFC-projecting LC-NE neurons appear to innervate the thalamus; although the difference did not reach statistical significance in individual regions that were imaged, the sum of fractional innervation of the five thalamic subregions was significantly greater for the mPFC-projecting neurons (0.1534 ± 0.0211 mPFC, 0.0773 ± 0.0119 M1; p = 0.0367 e , unpaired t test; Table 1 ).
