Finally, the gender of the person described in the vignette (Michael or Michelle) did not appear to play a role in respondent recognition of PDA. In terms of the regional and county-level variables, the only statistically meaningfully significant factor with regard to PDA recognition was if the respondent was from a county in the highest quartile of mental health providers per capita. 1 Relative to those from counties in the lowest quartile respondents in the highest quartile counties were less than half as likely to correctly identify the condition as PDA.
