A meta-regression analysis based on 19 studies assessing neuropsychological performance in 1,188 ARMS patients (women, n = 523; 44%) and 1,029 HC (women, n = 464; 45%) showed a trend-level significance effect of sex on cognitive performance, with females performing relatively better than males [ 15 ].
