Discussion The incidence of all cancers combined is currently lower in the departments of the French overseas territories than in mainland France, but is following a negative trend, likely due to the ageing of the population and the increased prevalence of risk factors linked to lifestyle (sedentary lifestyle, overweight and obesity [ 22 ], tobacco smoking [ 23 ]).
