We detected a trend towards higher mean prosthetic aortic valve gradient and smaller prosthetic aortic valve area in patients with haemolysis, but this finding did not reach statistical significance and the more appropriate AVAI values were very similar at 0.99 ± 0.34 vs. 0.92 ± 0.39, P = 0.408 in patients without vs. with Haemolysis Definition 1 (for all values see Table 3 ).
