A systematic review and meta‐analysis of data published between 1 December 2019 and 27 March 2020 including 4189 patients from 28 studies showed a significant trend for higher levels of cardiac biomarkers in patients with more severe COVID‐19. 51 On meta‐regression analysis, the only factor significantly associated with higher levels of cardiac injury biomarkers was the presence of hypertension ( P = .03).
