Despite similar rates of university-level education, the distrust group had significantly fewer patients who knew the name of their pathology, and fewer patients with a doctor-reported diagnosis relating to a sleep disorder (Table 1 ). Factors associated with distrust group membership In terms of selecting potential factors for predicting “distrust”, the following variables provided significant (or near-significant) results at the univariate level: age, gender, inactive employment status, doctor-reported sleep disorder, and whether or not the patient knew his/her pathology.
