At 5% false discovery rate (FDR), a total of 41 unique CpGs were differently methylated, when comparing any or sustained maternal smoking in pregnancy to non-smoking: 24 were associated with both smoking definitions, 3 with any, and 14 with sustained, although all of them were at least nominally significant in both models (Additional file 1 : Table S3).
