B cells, detected with both sets of markers, compared with sham-operated mice were elevated after MI (B220 high , 5.4 ± 1.3 vs 35.7 ± 16.8 cells per mg of tissue; CD19 high , 22.0 ± 2.9 vs 71.4 ± 23.2 cells per mg of tissue); however, these differences did not reach statistical significance (Supplementary Fig. 1 ).
