Our data showed a trend that the more positive results women had, the older they were on average for HPV 66, 11, 16, 18, 51, 52, and 39, which agrees with the age-related senescence of immunity being the main factor in promoting new infection or reinfection and activation of a latent virus, which makes persistent infection more likely to occur in older women.
