In line with this and the results in the TZH cohort, the 60 hypomethylated gsSMK-CpGs exhibited a clear trend toward hypomethylation in smokers in the Liu, Hannum, and Tsaprouni cohorts, which was only consistent and much stronger in myeloid cells (Fig. 2b–d ).
