Compared with women, men were likely to be hospitalized (aHR, 1.22; 95% CI, 1.04-1.42) or to receive mechanical ventilation (aHR, 2.07; 95% CI, 1.30-3.32), but the association of male sex with mortality did not reach statistical significance (aHR, 1.38; 95% CI, 0.93-2.06), likely reflecting the small number of women in the sample.
