APOE -ε4 homozygotes carrying at least one Met allele presented nominally significant larger bilateral volumes of the CA4 (β: 7.25%, p : 0.016) and DG (β: 7.38%, p : 0.012) subfields, hippocampal tail (β: 8.33%, p : 0.05), and whole hippocampal volumes (β: 5.35%, p : 0.046) than the expected combined effect of the individual contribution of APOE -ε4 (reverse effect) and BDNF Val66Met (Fig. 4 ).
