We re-ran the nominally significant e4 present vs. absent association with WM hyperintensity volumes, as an e4/e4 vs. non-e4 model: this was statistically significant (fully-adjusted model standardised beta = 0.217, 95% CI = 0.066 to 0.368, P = 0.005), with the caveat that there were relatively few e4 homozygotes ( n = 189).
