Higher genotype-predicted mean alcohol intake was associated with significantly higher plaque burden (0.09 [0.02, 0.17] mm per 280 g/week) and showed a trend, although non-significant, towards higher odds of carotid plaque (1.21 [0.99, 1.49] per 280 g/week) ( Figure 2, Table 4 ).
