Nevertheless, comparing our outcomes with previous studies where concurrent endophthalmitis and corneal pathology were managed by simultaneous keratoplasty and pars plana vitrectomy, we noted better functional outcomes a definite trend (though no statistical significance) toward better anatomic and functional outcomes, lesser incidence of phthisis or need for evisceration, lesser need for repeat vitrectomies or repeat intravitreal antibiotics, lesser graft failures and lesser residual infection post-procedure by attempting a primary endoscopic pars plana vitrectomy in such cases.
