( 44 ) indicated that lower LINE-1 methylation level was associated with higher IS prevalence (every 2.5% 5-methylcytosine decrease in LINE-1 methylation, OR = 1.90, 95%CI = 1.16–3.10), but this association did not reach statistical significance for IS incidence in follow-up analyses(every 2.5% 5-methylcytosine decrease in LINE-1 methylation, OR = 1.80, 95%CI = 0.72–4.46).
