Descriptive analysis For the second part of the study, both non-decalcified and decalcified histological preparations were evaluated for qualitative differences in order descriptively to determine whether a histologically detectable difference was apparent between auto-fluorescence and tetracycline-fluorescence, i.e., to establish whether auto-fluorescence was mineral-dependent as shown by changes between the PMMA and decalcified paraffin sections.
