Female patients with SAEs (mean age 60 years, SD 13.1) were significantly older than female patients without SAEs (mean age: 34.5 years, SD 16.3, p = 0.02), while the average age of males with SAEs (mean age: 26.1 years, SD 7.1) was lower than the average age of controls (mean age: 33.5 years, SD 17.1), but this difference did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.35).
