Although the 5hmC signals from colon and stomach tissues showed a trend of lower levels relative to other tissues, potentially due to tissue-specific characteristics or epigenomic changes caused by the presence of tumors in these donors, the general patterns of 5hmC distribution are still consistent (Fig. 1c ).
