Conversely, three of 37 (8%) isolates demonstrated significantly higher bacterial cell counts after 1 h, compared to a 48 h incubation period, while 18 out of 37 (49%) isolates exhibited higher numbers of bacterial cells after 1 hr of invasion which did not reach statistical significance.
