Consistent with decreased expression of fatty acid transporter genes in NT-PGC-1α −/− adipose tissue, inguinal WAT isolated from HFD-fed NT-PGC-1α −/− female mice showed a trend toward lower [ 14 C]-palmitate uptake (Fig. 5 D) and gonadal NT-PGC-1α −/− WAT showed a ~ 30% decrease in [ 14 C]-palmitate uptake compared with WT controls (Fig. 5 E).
