Noteworthy, sway area of patients with schizophrenia showed a trend of constant increase as compared to healthy controls, which is independent from the time from first hospitalization; however, the underpowered subgroups showed significant increases of sway area only in the early and middle stages of disease ( Fig 3 , panels 3D-3F).
