The rates of ischaemic strokes and intracerebral haemorrhage increased significantly from the pre-COVID to the post-COVID time period (41.6%–53.6%, p<0.001 and 8.1%–12.9%, p=0.003, respectively), while those of stroke mimics decreased significantly from 38.0% to 24.0%, p<0.001; whereas the minimal changes in the rates of TIAs and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis did not reach statistical significance between the two time periods.
