The results, reported in Figure 2 and Figure 1S , showed a trend of activity depending on the structure of the gold compounds; in fact, the most active compounds are the compounds 5 and 6 , while the compounds 1 , 2 and 3 , possessing the –COOH functional group on the PPh 3 moiety or the CH 2 OH group on the imidazole, did not show relevant cytotoxic activity.
