COVID-19 + solid cancers showed significantly reduced CD8 + T cell numbers ( Figures 5 A and S5 A) and although most significant for naive CD8 + T cells, there was a clear trend toward low counts for all CD8 + T cell subsets with the exception of T EMRA , as previously reported for non-cancer COVID-19 + ( Laing et al., 2020 ; Mathew et al., 2020 ; Wen et al., 2020 ) ( Figures 5 A, ii and S5 A).
