A positive trend was observed in annual minimum discharge at upstream gauging sites of Garhmukteshwar, Kachlabridge, Fatehgarh, Ankinghat, Kanpur, Bhitaura, and Shahzadpur; however, a negative trend is observed downstream towards Allahabad and Buxar.
