A food inflammatory score of 0–1, which represents a diet with more red meat than fruits and vegetables, was associated with a 14% to 21% reduction of CRP if blood was collected in winter compared to summer in most subgroups ( p -values were significant or marginally significant; see Table 4 ), whereas a food inflammatory score of −2 to −1, which represents a diet with more fruits and vegetables than red meat, had no impact on CRP in winter compared to women with a food inflammatory score of 0–1 who had a blood draw in summer.
