Assessment of glucagonemia during the glucose tolerance test showed a trend toward the hypothesized reduction in glucagon levels pre- and post-i.p. glucose administration in α-mutGCK mice relative to control mice ( Figure 1 F for male mice and Supplemental Figure 1F for female mice), supporting a role for glycolytic flux through glucokinase in α-cells in the control of glucagon secretion.
