Specifically, NT children with a greater P50 response amplitude showed less tactile reactivity [partial correlation: r = − 0.35, p = 0.029, 95% CI [− 0.61 − 0.12]], whereas autistic children showed a trend towards the opposite pattern, with greater P50 response amplitude related to more tactile reactivity [partial correlation: r = 0.38, p = 0.057, 95% CI [− 0.19 0.75]] (Fig. 5 a).
