Survival analysis showed a tendency towards a higher 5-year postfracture mortality after hip fracture in the obese compared with overweight women when adjusted for age at the time of fracture, with a HR of 1.5 ((95% CI) 0.9–2.4, p = 0.1) which, however, did not reach statistical significance in this cohort.
