16 17 Another study showed that TIR is associated with the presence of albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes, but this relationship did not reach statistical significance after adjusting for HbA1c levels. 18 On the other hand, a small retrospective cross-sectional study demonstrated that TAR is associated with the presence of DR, but other metrics of glucose variability were not associated with the presence of DR or DN in inpatients with type 2 diabetes. 19 Thus, the association between metrics from CGM and the presence or severity of diabetic microvascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes has not been fully elucidated yet.
