A retrospective study of 14 serological blood indicators in 1115 stroke patients found that heat shock protein levels in patients with early poststroke epilepsy were higher than those without seizures and the control group, although the difference did not reach statistical significance after adjusting for confounding factors [ 42 , 63 ].
