Edoxaban also showed reduced thrombosis recurrence, but the difference did not reach statistical significance (7.9 vs. 11.3%, HR 0.71, p = 0.09); a statistically significantly increased incidence of major bleeding was found with edoxaban (6.9 vs. 4%, HR 1.77, p = 0.04) compared to LMWH, which was attributable to a greater number of gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding events with edoxaban.
