In a clinical trial, CD40 mAb combined with chemotherapy showed a trend of increased overall survival, even though the sample size was too small (n = 21) for conclusive results. 204 Several other clinical trials that investigate the effect of targeting CD40 in different types of tumours have already been summarized. 217 While some of these therapeutics are associated with positive tumour outcomes, MФ‐specific effects of treatment are generally not investigated.
