A Kaplan-Meier analysis of glioblastoma patients whose free Hsp70 serum levels were either below ( n = 18) or above ( n = 16) a threshold of 3.5 ng/ml which distinguishes healthy human individuals from tumor patients ( Breuninger et al., 2014 ) revealed a trend toward an improved OS in patients whose Hsp70 serum levels were below 3.5 ng/ml ( p = 0.1), but did not reach statistical significance ( Figure 3D ).
