Population genomic analyses of these genomes identify a set of improved landraces (ILs), notable for their obviously contributions as elite germplasm for modern peach breeding worldwide, and our analyses show a clear trend of eastward dispersal of these landraces in the historical period before formal modern peach breeding was initiated.
