On multivariate logistic regression analysis, increasing BMI and alcohol remained independent predictors of advanced disease (BMI: OR 1.09 [1.01–1.17], p = 0.021; alcohol: OR 1.05 [1.02–1.08], p = 0.001), although BMI over 30 did not reach statistical significance in predicting advanced disease (χ 2 2.267, p = 0.132).
