A history of lung cancer significantly increased the risk of developing pericardial disease (HR 5.46, 95% CI 2.96 to 10.10, p<0.001) but the associations between pericardial disease with baseline corticosteroid use and history of cardiovascular events did not reach statistical significance (p=0.06 and p=0.06, respectively, table 2 ).
