This concordance suggested that patient-specific factors influence DWEK outcomes.[ 44 ] Two series[ 40 42 ] found that nonclearing patients had the highest preoperative pachymetry, but two larger series found no association between pachymetry and time to clearance.[ 32 44 ] Our study also showed a trend toward lower preoperative peripheral ECD with increased time to clearance that was not statistically significant ( P = 0.22).
