They found an overall increased risk of these events in ambulatory patients with IBD (RR 1.28, 95% CI 1.16–1.42), although the difference did not reach statistical significance when including studies with both ambulatory and hospitalized patients (RR 1.15, 95% CI 0.91–1.45) 19 .
