Interestingly, and similar to OCE measurements, Col5a1 +/− corneas showed a trend towards a steeper stress–strain curve and thus higher E-modulus than wt corneas (30.7 ± 12.1 kPa vs 21.5 ± 5.7), even though statistical significance was not reached (p = 0.057).
