SRD patients might display specificities regarding their healthcare requirements, as well as their short- and long-term prognosis: the intensivists concerns are to determine which characteristics are associated with ICU-mortality, and the internists need to identify which categories of patients will undergo an unfavorable trend after ICU discharge, in terms of long-term mortality, morbidity, and SRD evolution.
