The evidence presented by Sheridan and colleagues ( Sheridan et al., 2015 ) and Zhang and colleagues ( Zhang et al., 2018 ) indicate a clear trend that adequate social support and socializing interventions for people enduring mental illness lead to improved social functioning and reduced levels of loneliness.
