Following bovine insulin treatment, the levels of glucose in the haemolymph showed a trend of first decreasing and then increasing, which was followed by a decrease in comparison to the PBS-buffer-treated group ( Figure 2 H); this trend was likely caused by subsequent changes in glucose levels in pupae treated with bovine insulin.
