Large population studies have found a significant trend toward increased mortality associated with B.1.1.7 [ 10 , 11 ]; whereas for a cohort of hospitalized patients, no significant differences in disease severity and clinical outcomes were found compared with non-B.1.1.7–infected patients [ 12 ].
