Significantly higher MEK1 (pS217/221) phosphorylation levels were also detected for the high-risk group of HPV16-negative tumors of the pan-SCC cohort, and two SCC subtypes (TCGA-HNSC and TCGA-CESC), while a similar trend was also evident for TCGA-LUSC and TCGA-ESCA, which did not reach statistical significance ( Figure S24A,B ).
